BHA WEBSITE (www.barriehistorical.com )
Laura Brown has volunteered to update our website and try to keep it current. If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact a member of the Board.
BHA CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAW UPDATE
To date there are 3 Board members who will be working on this project –Al Scarth, Val Brucker, and Sharyn Ross. We are looking for
other members to assist in this one-time project to review what others are using and align ours to correspond to our recent years’practices and develop a strategy as to where we want to be within the next 5 years as an organization. The update will be pre-circulated to be discussed and approved at the May 2013 Annual General Meeting. Contact Sharyn Ross if you can provide some time to help.
MUSEUM/HISTORICAL SITE PROJECT
To date a letter has been sent to Barrie CityCouncil requesting consideration as part of the Allandale Station project.
Due to current litigation for the area, Council has deferred any decision until the legal matters are resolved.
This will provide our Committee to develop our vision and plan for a museum/historical site. We’re looking for volunteers – be a part of the future depicting our past. Contact Sharyn Ross to have your name included on the Committee.
FUTURE MEETINGS
At our September 20 meeting, a listing of our 2012/13 Members’ Meetings with the speakers and their topics will be given out in the format of a bookmark.
